Kathy Paxton currently holds the position of Project Director of Transition Aged Youth at Marshall University Center of Excellence in Recovery and was recently the Business Manager for Health Equity in Medical Affairs for Aetna/ CVS Healthcare and Training Contractor for the Ohio Maternal Opiate Medical Supports Project. She previously was the Senior Vice President of Healthcare Integration and New Business at WestCare Foundation, an international health and human services organization. She graduated from West Virginia University School of Medicine with a Master of Science in Community Health Education. Paxton has more than 30 years of experience in all areas of behavioral health. She returned to her West Virginia home in March of 2011 to assume a leadership role at the Bureau for Behavioral Health and Health Facilities as the Director of Substance Abuse Services after serving as the Director of Behavioral Health and Education at The Ohio State University Center for Learning Excellence. Paxton has performed as a national consultant, faculty, and conference speaker on healthcare system integration and strategic planning, health equity and disparities, substance and perinantal use and mental health disorders, physician engagement, funding diversification through partnerships, and translating research into practice and policy.
