Rural Communities Opioid Response Implementation (RCORP)

The Rural Communities Opioid Response Implementation Grant from the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) was awarded to the Prestera Center, Westbrook Health Services, and the Marshall University Center of Excellence for Recovery with the aim to provide evidence-based prevention, treatment and recovery services to individuals and families. This is a three year program that spans across five rural WV counties, including Calhoun, Jackson, Mason, Ritchie, and Roane, which have been affected by the opioid crisis and are in need of infrastructure and workforce to address the needs in their communities. This work expands upon an earlier RCORP planning grant that the Center of Excellence worked on in collaboration with Prestera Center and Westbrook Health Services that included a needs assessment and strategic planning for the communities in the five rural counties.

  • Evaluation – The Center of Excellence is the evaluator for this project, conducting continuous assessment of measures for success for the program. The Center will ensure that the required process measures and outcome data are collected, analyzed, and reported to HRSA in accordance with federal reporting requirements. The evaluation team will track and report on a multitude of prevention, treatment and recovery core measures. The Center also provides consultation regarding evidence-based practices and training.
