Strategic Prevention Framework Partnerships for Success Statewide Project Evaluation & Capacity Building

The purpose of the West Virginia Strategic Prevention Framework, Partnership for Success (SPF PFS) project was to prevent and reduce underage drinking, intravenous drug use, and marijuana use of high-risk students aged 9-20 years. The SPF PFS was funded by a five-year federal grant received by the West Virginia (WV) Department of Health and Human Resources Bureau for Behavioral Health from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, Center for Substance Abuse Prevention (CSAP). The SPF PFS was carried out by six regional prevention lead organizations covering all WV counties. The grant was received in October 2018 and continues through 2023. The role of the COE was to evaluate and build capacity for prevention professionals.
